SMI'2003

Shape Modeling International '2003

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON

SHAPE MODELING AND APPLICATIONS

Seoul National University

Seoul, Korea, May 12-16 2003

http://cgvr.korea.ac.kr/SMI2003

SETTINGS

Reasoning about shape is a common way of describing and representing

objects in engineering, architecture, medicine, biology, physics and in

daily life. Modelling shapes is part of both cognitive and creative

processes and from the outset models of physical shapes have satisfied

the desire to see the result of a project in advance. Recently, shape

modeling has been extended to volumetric and multidimensional modeling

reflecting time-dependent processes and various properties of real and

abstract objects.

SMI'2003 will be the fifth International Conference on Shape Modeling

and Applications. From year 2002 the SMI conference became an annual

event with the venue changing circularly from Asia to Europe, and to

America, it has also included the Eurographics/ACM SIGGRAPH

Workshop on Implicit Surfaces as a specific session.

Previous events were held in 1997 and 1999 (Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan),

2001 (Genova, Italy), and 2002 (Banff, Canada).

The conference will include three days of papers program. Special

sessions will be organized on relevant topics.

The conference is organized by Korea Computer Graphics Society in

cooperation with ACM SIGGRAPH (pending) and EUROGRAPHICS (pending).

The Conference Proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society

Press.
