This paper presents a system for modeling the turbulent behavior that occurs when a burning gas interacts with solid objects and the surrounding medium (often seen as a flame). More specifically we try to model the rotational motion produced by the mixture of burned and unburned gases on the flame front in addition to the reciprocal effects of the combustion and turbulence phenomena. The technique is based on the utilization of a hierarchical model of turbulence fields combined with the use of volumetric multi-grid finite differences methods and a simplified flamelet model to obtain a numerical approximation of the fluid's governing equations for turbulence and combustion phenomena. |
